Grande Grève

Grand Greve 1 Grand Greve 2 Grand Greve 3 Grand Greve 4

Come rain or shine, Grande Grève is a spectacular sight to see. Looking down at the bay from La Coupée you are instantly taken aback by the sweeping curve of the cliff below, the expanse of golden sand met with the greens and blues of the water and the soft outlines of Guernsey, Herm and Jethou on the horizon.

With several hundred steps leading down from La Coupée onto the beach the descent is almost as breathtaking as the view but just as rewarding. At low tide you can walk for minutes before reaching the waters edge.

There is great swimming to be had here at any tide, although there can sometimes be a strong swell on a rising tide. Children will lose themselves for hours on end exploring all the rock pools and caves of this great bay.

To end the day, Grande Grève is the perfect spot for a sunset barbecue as the orange sun slowly melts over the contours of Guernsey.
